Debt and Avarice

by Sarcasmo Jones

If you can’t defund it, delay it.  The US House of Representatives has now made 42 separate attempts to deprive millions of Americans of affordable healthcare.  Utilizing their very deep pockets, these guys have been able to, through misleading ads and misinformation, convince too many Americans that having health insurance is a bad thing.  Go to the emergency room, walk it off, whatever, just as long as you opt out of Obamacare.  It’s a job killer. The government should never come between you and your doctor, unless you have a uterus.

Now Republican legislators in the House of Representatives are using the debt ceiling as leverage to delay the Affordable Care Act.  I guess that maybe they’re learning, they’re not trying to repeal it this time, or asking President Obama to step down so the Koch brothers can set up shop in the Oval Office.  Why would they even bother delaying the implementation of the ACA?  Is it because the President delayed the employer mandate for a year?  Are they trying to buy enough time to fail another 42 times?  Were they unsatisfied with the deterioration of the faith and credit of our country the last time they pulled this stunt?

Republicans all over the country, at both the state and federal level, are calling this a good deal and placing the blame for a government shutdown squarely on the shoulders of Harry Reid and President Obama.

Texas Lt. Governor hopeful, jerry-patterson gunJerry Patterson, has this to say on his Facebook page:

Debt and Avarice

Rep. Ted Cruz added his words of wisdom to the debate over affordable health care: “I do not like green eggs and ham.”   ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Speaker Boehner was twisting the Twitter teat for a little support as well:

“Spoke on the floor earlier about the threat#ObamaCare poses to jobs & our economy        http://j.mp/1bmkdbU  #SenateMustAct to stop it”

“Will the Senate stand w/the American people against#ObamaCare & provide                      #FairnessForAll?”

Holding federal jobs and the nation’s credit hostage to push some bullshit Republican agenda through is “fairness for all?” Is it fair to folks with pre-existing conditions or full time poverty-wage workers who cannot afford insurance? I may never understand the Conservative rage about other folks getting the same stuff that they already have, like food and good health, but it seems like some selfish, stingy behavior. Grow up fellas, you’ve been out of the third grade for a very long time. Put on your big boy pants and write some legitimate bills that will withstand Senate scrutiny without having to tack your agenda onto necessary legislation.

Just like the current RWNJ plan to try to fund ONLY the things that they want, one at a time. They are selfish and immature, and I will be glad when they are all voted out of office and become a memory.
